The Chênes-Brûlés observatory is a device of the Maginot Line allowing to guide the shooting of artillery pieces of the neighbouring works. It is dedicated to the work of Mont-des-Weiches. The block has 2 floors, one dedicated to observation and communication, the second to the life of the soldiers.
The Association de Préservation de l'Observatoire des Chênes Brûlés (Association for the Preservation of the Burnt Oaks Observatory) is responsible for restoring the site.
