Eguisheim is a must-see during your stay in Alsace!
Located just south of Colmar, Eguisheim has been listed as one of the "Most Beautiful Villages in France" since 2003, and was named "France's Favorite Village" in 2013 by the France 2 TV show presented by Stéphane Bern.
This medieval village appeals for its modest size, unique architecture and profusion of flowers in summer, but also for its authentic charm during the Christmas season, when numerous events are organized around the Christmas market.
Eguisheim's claim to fame is its architectural ensemble, intelligently preserved from the ravages of history.
Built around its castle, this medieval town spreads out in concentric circles. In this original village, you'll discover fountains, colonial courtyards and a church housing a 13th-century "Vierge Ouvrante".
Stroll along the narrow streets and admire the colorful palette of houses, whose ancient inscriptions can be deciphered on the door lintels.
