Collonges is an old stopover spot on the Camino de Santiago de Compostella pilgrimage route, and was also castlery to the Viscountcy of Turenne. The village is built of red sandstone and visitors are attracted to its outstanding architecture. Mansions, houses with towers and bartizans, the town’s old covered market and flat-stone roofs all contribute to Collonges’s harmonious charm.
