In 1543, the Barons of Fleckenstein, who had owned the village since 1359, introduced the Reformation to all the communes of the Uffried region. After the death of Henri Jakob de Fleckenstein in 1720, King Louis XV granted all rights to the Princes Rohan-Soubise, who held the fiefdom until the revolution of 1789.
