This set of statues represents a group of children, accompanied by a penguin with a cap, a duck with a suction cup and a crocodile that serves as an inflatable buoy. They run into the water of the Seine to go swimming. Some are on dry land, others are already in the water.
The artist combines fantasy and Belgian humour and is strongly influenced by Pieter Brueghel and Hieronymus Bosch.
This work enriches the artistic journey undertaken in 2012 following the requalification of the banks of the Seine.
The statue by Tom Frantzen was cast in bronze in 2018 and installed in 2022.
