Two statues stand between the two rows of fisherwomen on stilts on the Quai Gambetta . Batisse and Zabelle, emblematic of Boulogne-sur-Mer, represent a fisherman and his wife.
The statue of Zabelle, a replica of a giant processional figure from Boulogne , stands on the Quai Gambetta and is seen with both hands on her hips, in traditional dress. She wears the Soleil boulonnais , a round white lace headdress that surrounds her head like a halo. Her shoulders are covered with a white fringed shawl, which contrasts with the black of her dress.
