Ruins of the old water mill - Montauroux

Near the Pont des Tuves lie the remains of an old water mill.

From the 18th–19th centuries, numerous mills stood along the entire river – grain mills, oil mills, flax mills, paper mills, and even extremely industrial scouring mills , fed by side arms of the river.

Most have disappeared or lie in ruins, but some traces – such as dikes, water channels and foundations – remain visible in nature.

in Montauroux, for example , four grain mills and two oil mills , plus a paper mill and a sawmill at various locations.

In nearby Mons-sur-la-Siagnole, one mill has even been restored.
