Discover the organic and educational garden; situated at an altitude of 1400 m, the youth hostel is taking up the challenge of launching an organic market gardening project and intends to experiment with an agro-ecological approach geared towards permaculture.
Through this project, 2 objectives:
- To offer guests healthy, local and self-produced food by integrating the products of its harvests into the hostel's menus. - To make the field an educational tool by organising workshops and introductions to gardening, as well as more technical training in permaculture for children, families and groups.
The aim is to encourage a social mix and make the field a place for exchanges, discovering and sharing ecological values. These workshops will be an opportunity to reconnect with nature and learn about current environmental issues in a fun way:
- Guided tour of the garden: Come and discover the different permacultural techniques used, recognise the varieties sown, and learn about the virtuous plant associations you can reproduce at home.
- Make your own seed bombs! This workshop, aimed at young people, will involve making clay and earth balls in which participants will sow seeds. They'll be able to understand how germination occurs and take home a lovely souvenir
A new teleworking space has opened its doors at the Serre Chevalier Youth Hostel. We offer a quiet office available for hire from 9am to 12pm and/or from 5pm to 8pm. This quiet office has fibre internet access. This space is accessible to all: visiting clients, professionals, valley residents, etc.
