The Cap Camarat lighthouse is an impressive lighthouse located on the Ramatuelle peninsula.
It is one of the tallest lighthouses in France (25.3 metres high and 130 metres above sea level) and an iconic landmark in the area.
It was built between 1829 and 1832 by order of King Louis Philippe I. The lighthouse was intended to warn ships of the region's dangerous rocky coastline. It is now fully automated, still active, and has a range of approximately 60 kilometers (3 white flashes every 15 seconds).
