In 1668, Leers was annexed to France. Following the treaty known as the treaty of boundaries signed between France and the Netherlands in 1769, Leers was divided in 1780 into two territories and was called one Leers North in Belgium and the other Leers South in France.
The Leers mill is one of the last representatives of the milling tradition, possessing a complete mechanism. The visit to the mill takes place on Sundays from April to the end of October from 14:00 to 18:00. "Closed in August." The Mill Festival takes place in mid-June each year.
St. Vaast Church dates from the 15th century and its last renovation was carried out in 2007.
