Think again if you thought France south of Paris is all endless boring agricultural plains. All along the river Loing (or rather it's accompanying canal) there is a great cyclepath, following Eurovelo 3 that takes you right up the legendary Seine river. Along the Seine you will find the beautiful Pippi Longstocking houses, but also a preview of suburban problems. With Paris on the horizon, signalization problems and bad quality roads appear. You might consider taking a train into Paris from Melun, to avoid this.
