Even seasoned travelers to Paris are surprised to hear that the City of Light was once the world’s most important wine capital. In the nineteenth century, the vineyards of Paris and Île de France were even larger than the famous regions of Burgundy and Bordeaux. Unfortunately, due to the city's significant urbanization, the vineyards had to make way, and countless traces of winemaking in Paris disappeared.
This walk starts in Cour Saint Emilion, along the vineyard of Bercy to the vineyard of Le Jardin des Plantes.
