Easy route, family-friendly, green and wooded, sometimes wet, especially at the end (it's wise to bring boots). Picturesque view over the Lawe valley. The Lawe springs in the hamlet of Rocourt-en-l'eau, flows northward and empties into the Leie at Béthune.
This path allowed priests living in the rectory of Magnicourt to reach the village of Frévillers via a shorter route.
The spring of Saint-Charles was a resting spot for soldiers at the front of Vimy – Souchez during the Great War.
It was popular until the sixties.
