City walk all the sights of Bar-sur-Seine

This city walk visits all the sights of the city of Bar-sur-Seine.

Start at the majestic Porte de Châtillon where we can park at a Leclerc department store.

We walk into the Grande Rue de la Résistance and climb to the remains of the old castle and the Tour de l'Horloge where a beautiful panorama of the city awaits us. We descend back along the Escalier de Jeanne de Navarre to the Chapelle de la Passion.

A little further on, the typical Maison Champenoise awaits us. The Maison Renaissance is another much-photographed half-timbered house. A little further away is the Église Saint-Étienne, famous for its stained glass windows.

We pass the Le Moulin building awaiting restoration (2024). Some celebrities lived in Maison Paul Portier and Maison des Goncourt , which we pass and in the Halle there is a weekly market.

The Palais de justice will be abandoned again (2024) and is waiting for a new destination.

We make the effort to do the Promenade du Croc Ferrand on the other side of the Seine , with its typical Cadoles de Champagne.

We cross the Seine again along the Pont de la rue de l'abreuvoir and return to the starting point.
