Volckerinckhove, the "picturesque" one, is unparalleled for discovering Flemish rural heritage.

As for Bollezeele, it is said to be "the most Flemish village".

The village of Zegerscappel is known for its legends and not just stories!

- the treasure of the Templars: a treasure is said to be hidden underground, in a tunnel located between the church and the farm known as the Templars'... Beware, it is said to be guarded by black dogs on chains...

- the Bertin Denys chapel: in the 19th century, a carpenter requested to be buried on his land. He has since been seen roaming at night in the countryside.

- The Bonaventure chapel: in the 14th century, a sailor, Michel Thomas, caught in a violent storm, is said to have made a vow to erect a chapel in honor of the saint at the Bell, if he was saved...

Because the spelling of Broxeele resembles that of Brussels, our Belgian friends gifted the municipality a Manneken Pis!
