At the gates of Strasbourg, the road between Wolfisheim and Mittelhausbergen runs along the fortified belt of the Alsatian underground. Beyond Pfulgriesheim opens the Kochersberg, the "granary" of Alsace. The large cultivated areas are punctuated by round hills. From Osthoffen-Dahlenheim, they give way to the vineyards that stretch over the Mossig hillsides on the slopes of Mount Scharrach. The return journey to Wolfisheim is along the banks of the Mossig and then the Bruche canal.
