Du Puits du Roi au Vivier Corax

This forest trail of nearly 9 km will take you from the central crossroads of the Octagon to the charming Vivier-Corax forest house surrounded by beautiful and rich forest pools. It will then reach the edge of the woods at Lacroix-Saint-Ouen before taking the chemin des plaideurs. This is one of the oldest roads in the forest. It was used by the inhabitants of La Croix-Saint-Ouen to go and ask for justice from the bailiff of Pierrefonds, hence its name

The Maison forestière du Vivier-Corax is located in the heart of the forest. As its name suggests, it was once a farm with a dairy and an important fishpond. You can also take advantage of this hike to discover some of the richest ponds in the forest of Compiègne. An exceptional procession of plant and animal species from peaty environments live in the pond of Vivier-Corax or nearby: carnivorous plants, dragonflies, birds and even the large fauna whose traces you can observe. And if you have some time after the hike, you can let yourself be guided by following the tree frog interpretation trail.
