Description by the author

This day hike starts from the Lutzelhouse train station and leads through the forest to the Falkenstein peak, offering magnificent views over the Bruche valley. The hike continues to the summit of the Schelmeck thatch, at 750 m altitude, which offers an unobstructed view of the Alsace plain and where the orientation table is located. Once at the summit, the hike descends along the Muhlbach stream to the starting point at Lutzelhouse railway station.
