CIRCUIT LA MANUFACTURE

Thank you to the Club Vosgien and the walking section of the MJC of Bains-les-Bains for the realization of this hike and the work done by its teams throughout the year to mark and maintain these paths.
Blue ring marking- Varied circuit- At Rue de la Pavée near the camper area, follow the small marked path. Continue on this path until you cross the Rue des Anciens Moulins. The big building in front of you is an old wire drawing factory
Wire drawing is the reduction of the section of a metal wire by mechanical traction on a wire drawing machine. Plants specializing in wire drawing are called wire drawing plants. Turn left to continue into the Rue des Anciens Moulins. Follow the signs to go into a small path in the forest. When you reach a crossroads, turn right. You will arrive again at a crossroads, turn right again.
The road on which you are walking was the old road used by the inhabitants of Trémonzey to get to their place of work such as the factory, the mills, the wire drawing... You will arrive on the site of the Moulin au bois, an old nail factory
This metallurgical factory, known as the forge of Moulins-aux-Bois in the 16th century, then a hardware factory (nail factory) in the 19th century. It definitively closed its doors in 1980. In this sector took place the shooting of "Indigène" a film by Rachid Bouchared. The film takes place in 1943, France tries to liberate itself from Nazi domination, the journey of four "natives", forgotten soldiers of the 1st French army recruited in Africa. Cross the D434 to continue straight ahead on a bridge. You will go along the Canal des Vosges and the river Le Côney, then cross a wooden bridge. Continue on this road and you will see La Manufacture on your left, then the twisted beech tree opposite the Châtelet. Take the straight road that goes to the left (possibility of a path through the woods on the left, to be avoided in wet weather). Following the signposts, cross the departmental road carefully and go back up on the right by a stony path, an old Roman road.
