Here you find yourself on the Sault Plateau, in a vast open landscape shaped by growing crops (Sault small spelt) and lavender. From Aurel, the route is not very technical as it rolls along to Sault and its racecourse, the highest in France (alt. 800m), through woods and open spaces. An easy descent towards Monieux will bring you to one of the highlights of this long distance route: the Gorges de la Nesque.
