You set off from Langres, Europe's largest fortified town with 8 km of ramparts. You leave the city of the philosopher Diderot by bike to follow part of the banks of the ‘Entre Champagne et Bourgogne’ canal. Your pedalling will take you to the Lac de La Liez, before continuing on to Andilly-en-Bassigny and its Gallo-Roman archaeological site, on quiet but undulating Haut-Marnais roads. In Saulxures, don't miss a tasting of Langres cheese!
