Description by the author

A spectacular coastal walk around Cap d'Antibes , along a narrow path past cliffs, creeks, and pine trees. The Sentier de Tire-Poil winds between the sea and the rocks, offering breathtaking views and the sound of crashing waves beneath your feet. A unique blend of rugged nature and hidden luxury. The name "Tire-Poil" literally means "hair-puller "—a nod to the wind and wild nature you'll encounter along the way.

Along the way you can spot rare coastal plants, seabirds and even dolphins — a true open-air museum of Mediterranean nature.

Start at the Phare de la Garoupe car park, where we can use the Bistrot du Curé on our return.

An orientation table already points out the expansive view that can be admired here.

We'll take a look inside the Sanctuary of Notre-Dame de la Garoupe, dedicated to sailors. With good planning, a visit to the Phare de la Garoupe, one of the most powerful lighthouses in the Mediterranean, is also possible.

Along the Criques de la Garoupe, “wild beaches” of natural beauty , we are treated to breathtaking views.

The Sentier de Tire-Poil trail (also called the ) is public and specially screened from adjacent private property.

Thanks to the French Littoral Law (1986), the Sentier du Littoral has reopened to hikers, despite the many luxurious private villas along the route. Previously , hikers sometimes had to ring the doorbells of villa owners' private gates to gain access. That's now a thing of the past. Stairs, handrails , and sections with railings and balustrades have been installed, especially in rocky or exposed areas, to prevent falls.

We pass through the "moon landscape" created by a combination of natural erosion, geological composition and maritime climate.

Further on, the Tomban du Cap Gros is a steep underwater cliff right next to the coast, with a layered depth of up to about 30 m.

In addition to 2 viewpoints, we also pass the spectacular "Terras Balcon"

Finally we pass the Eglise Saint-Benoit , once a place of prayer for missionaries returning from Africa, but now deconsecrated (no longer religious) and converted into a youth centre/community space .

Be sure to check out the information about the sights once you're there . They'll explain what you'll see!
