The Boars' Woods

This route begins by crossing Blies-Ebersing and then climbs the slope to reach the plateau overlooking the Valley of the Blies. At these heights, the forest is ever-present and offers its freshness and tranquility to the walker.

Rest assured, the wild boar, emblem of Blies-Ebersing, which lives in these shaded places, remains very discreet and not easily seen.

As you progress along your journey, you will have the opportunity to follow the old railway line of the Blies valley: the "Bliestalbahn". This line was created in 1879, during the German annexation, to connect Sarreguemines to Hombourg (Germany). It was named as such because it ran alongside the Blies for a large part of its route. In 1991, the closure of the last service (Reinheim - Hombourg) marked the end of this line.

Today, the path has been developed for cyclists and pedestrians.

In addition to two structures, a tunnel and a bridge, other remnants of this line still dot the bike path.
