Walking trail - The Base of the Bell - Ruxurieux

It is recommended to wear good hiking shoes, also bring drinks in a backpack, keep your dog on a leash, and respect the trails.
Departure: Corcieux, church square.
1/ Take Doctor Poirot Street on the left. At the end of the street, turn left onto 3rd BCP Street.
2/ You arrive at the place called La Croix Florence (alt 543 m). At the intersection, notice a calvary *. Turn right towards La Vierge - Col du Plafond (blue diamond). The paved road uphill runs alongside the site of an old military camp *.
Behind you, a beautiful panorama from left to right: the Tête de Nayemont (alt 967 m), the basin of Corcieux, the Neuné valley with Mont Thiriville in the background and the village of Vanémont.
Continue straight, leaving the TV relay on your right. At the place called le Bas de la Cloche (alt 631 m), take the dirt path on the left to reach 100 m further on the left the GR 533 (green rectangle) towards La Vierge (blue diamond).
3/ On the right, a view of Col du Plafond and further the village of Anould and the Haute-Meurthe valley. Pass under the high voltage line coming from the Fessenheim nuclear power plant and continue straight to Carrefour de la Table (alt 643 m), picnic area. Turn left onto the dirt path slightly downhill towards Ruxurieux – Corcieux (blue diamond).
At the next crossroads, turn left, cross the hamlet of Ruxurieux. Its old houses, with magnificent lintels, escaped the disaster of November 1944.
Return to the center of Corcieux via Croix Florence, 31st BCP street and Henry street on the right.

Things to see:
THE CALVARY OF LA CROIX FLORENCE: This calvary, located within a private property, was erected in 1804. Notice the sculptures on the crossbeam: on the south side, Christ, and on the north side, the Virgin and child. The wayside crosses or calvaries represent both a geographical and historical heritage of our countryside.
THE MILITARY CAMP OF CORCIEUX: It was General Boulanger, Minister of War, who in 1898 had this camp built as a convalescence place for soldiers who had suffered from epidemics. This place was chosen for “its green setting, its fresh air, its exceptional climate at a revitalizing altitude of 555 m”.
