Walking circuit - The Head of Behouille

Good walking shoes are recommended. You leave via Coinchimont / Marimont street and then start ascending towards Coinchimont by crossing a wood of fir and deciduous trees. On the right in the ascent, observe the calvary restored in 1865, before arriving at Coinchimont, on the left, beautiful views of (from right to left): Mandray square, Raumont, and the valleys of La Truche and Québrux.

As you cross the hamlet via the main road, you will notice on your left a very large basin, the public distillation workshop, and across from it an old washhouse.

At the exit of Coinchimont, take the left path heading towards Salifontaine where a farm from 1781 still stands.

Be careful, from this point, there are two changes of direction: one to the right and 50 meters further, one to the left which takes you along the boundary of the municipalities Coinches / Ban de Laveline towards the hamlet of Omégoutte.

Along a fenced property, you turn left and enter the forest between plots 9 and 10 of Coinches. On this path, you can see on the right, through the fir trees, the valley of Entre-deux-Eaux.

This path ends on a sunken road (landmark post 38) which you take at a right angle to the left and which ascends into a wood of fir and deciduous trees. 30 meters after post 33, you engage to the right into a wood of firs and emerge onto a clearing that seems like an ideal spot for a picnic.

100 meters from this spot, you can go to the Military Square where the brave hunters of the 1914-1918 War are buried. Retracing your steps, you descend a wide path that leads you to the place called "Champ de Cheval" where a few farms remain and you arrive on the small paved road that you will take until Algoutte and which overlooks the Valley of the Morthe.

On this small road, you will have a nice overall view (village of La Croix aux Mines, thatched roof of La Louvière, hamlet of Verpellière).

At the Colnat farm, the road rises and meets an intersection that you take to the right to descend towards the hamlet of Algoutte where a calvary stands in front of you at a crossroads that you go around to cross a meadow and then enter a wood of fir trees whose path is marked by granite posts.

This path brings you back to the road to Coinchimont and leads you back to the starting point, Colonel Denis square.
