Victor Hugo Trail
Departures: Domvallier (church), Ramecourt or Thiraucourt
Distance: 15 km
Average time: 3h45
Yellow marking (round) FFRandonnée
The trail takes you to discover the fauna and flora through the Val D’Arol valley, a peaceful watercourse, in the villages where Victor Hugo's ancestors lived. Please inquire during the hunting season.
Note that several sections of this circuit are common with the Sainte-Menne trail and the GR 507.

1. Go up the village by following Victor-Hugo Street. Pass by an old washhouse (shelter) and the town hall. At the top of the slope, go right and continue on the path. Beautiful views of the villages of Domvallier, Ramecourt, and in the distance, Thiraucourt are available. At the small road, go down to the right to join Ramecourt.

2. At the statue intersection, go right and cross the Val d'Arol. Climb Chaumousey Street. Cross D 166 at the pedestrian crossing and continue straight for about 800 m.

3. Leave the road by taking the path on the right that winds through the fields.

4. At the small road, go left; it quickly becomes a farm track.

5. Stay on this path to reach the forest. Pass the barrier and climb into the Bas du Puits wood (be attentive to the markings). At the junction at the top, turn left and then right onto a small path to join a stony path. The hike continues to the right.

6. Turn left and at the next intersection (alt. 377 m), go down to the right. Just outside the Saint-Lambert wood, take the path on the left. At the place called Haut de la Clef, continue on the road that descends towards Remicourt.

7. After the stream bridge, go right towards the church and then right again on D 17. Join and then cross Thiraucourt.

8. Just before leaving the village, go up to the right on the street that quickly becomes a farm track. At the top, take a left to return to the route taken on the way out.

5. Continue straight to join D 17, which you will follow for 250 m. Cross D 166 again, with caution; go straight ahead. At the end of Cerisiers Street, turn left to return to the starting point.
