Path of Excellence 8 - Eschviller Mill and Saint Joseph Chapel

The circuit of the Moulin d’Eschviller allows you to discover a preserved heritage along a beautiful bucolic valley. After crossing the small river of the Schwalb, which once powered 26 mills, you will reach Ormersviller via a path through fields, leading to the magnificent Saint-Joseph chapel.

Do not leave the Schwalb valley without visiting the Moulin d’Eschviller and its three exhibitions. At the grain mill, you will witness the production of flour thanks to the action of a waterwheel that starts up just like in the past to turn cogs and the stone mill. The sawmill details the production of planks, also powered by hydraulic energy. The beehive will immerse you in the fascinating world of bees and the profession of beekeeping.

Along your route, you will also glimpse the "Friedenskreuz" cross erected 300 m from the border, the orientation table, and the magnificent viewpoint at the Saint-Joseph chapel.

Picnic tables are set up near the Moulin d’Eschviller, at the Waldbrunnen spring.
