The Grosswald

This route offers you the opportunity to enjoy a beautiful walk through the 90 hectares of oak and beech forests of the Grosswald woods. You can thereby enjoy the calm and shade provided by the vegetation cover. Open your eyes wide: the forest is full of surprises.

The Gallo-Roman villa of Grosswald is a hidden gem amid the trees. It is one of the many villas or farms representative of Gaul's northeast and the Germanies that dotted the territory of the small town of Bliesbruck. It served as the center of an agricultural estate. Discovered in 1966, the villa was excavated until 1982, then consolidated and restored. The baths were provided with protective coverage, and the room heated by the floor was reconstructed.

Around a pathway, take this stop to enjoy a picnic break with the backdrop of this natural setting blending old stones and vegetation.
