Walking trail - Lake of Maix (Moussey)

Small glacier lake in the heart of the forest between Moussey and Vexaincourt. Legend has it that peasants and villagers, enchanted by the violin of a strange musician, refused to attend mass. The earth then opened up, engulfing the pilgrims in the waters of the lake. On certain nights, the notes of music can still be heard escaping from the deep waters...

Departure: From the refuge at the col de Prayé

Cross Moussey heading towards the Col de Prayé, the Donon. Parking at the Club Vosgien refuge before the col de Prayé, take the first forest road on the left. After circling the lake, climb the steps to the chapel. From there, passing in front of the stele, the path will lead you back to the Haut du Bon Dieu; follow the yellow rings and catch up with the paved road that will take you back to the Club Vosgien refuge.
