For this route, head to the parking lot situated between lock number 2 and lock number 3, then ascend towards Port Sainte Marie or simply to the parking lot of the Inclined Plane. From the old lock ladder where the spirit of the lock keepers and boatmen of past centuries remains, passing through picturesque pink sandstone rocks and shaded forests, this route takes you to the Inclined Plane, a symbol of the mechanical and hydraulic engineering of the 20th century. Follow the yellow disc markings.
