Starting from Frêne, you take a very small paved section before arriving on a narrow and steep path that climbs up to the head of the cuveaux. You will reach this very popular site via a little-known trail that allows you to admire the lower part of the cuveaux rock before enjoying the sublime view of the Moselle valley and the plain. You then continue on a very pleasant path for a few hundred meters before reaching the belvedere. Once at the top of the belvedere, you enjoy a breathtaking 360° view of the Vosges massif. The descent is done by a different route, thus completing the loop back to Frêne.
