Walking trail - Lake de la Maix (Vexaincourt)

From Raon l'Etape, take the direction of the Col du Donon towards Vexaincourt.
From the center, follow the red cross marking up the street of Lake Maix. At the exit of the village, take the path to the left to enter the forest 300 meters further. Follow the trail that branches off to the right which ascends for 1 km to reach the forest road that climbs for 1 km to Lake Maix.
After admiring the site, leave the lake by ascending the path passing downstream of the chapel (marked with a yellow disk) that crosses a junction 400 meters later towards the direction of the Lorrain fountain, a small wooden basin. From there, there is the possibility to discover the cupule rocks (prehistoric remains) located 300 meters away.
Then, descend back to Vexaincourt by the path winding through a beautiful stand of fir trees to join the red cross path that leads back to the starting point.
