Walking Circuit - Jean BOLOT

Departure from the Première Sapinière (access from Raon-l'Étape). After passing under RN 59 through the tunnel, take the left forest road that runs along the bypass of Raon-l'Étape, then turn right onto the path that leads to the second Sapinière (Étival-Clairefontaine).
Continue on the path towards the Pierre d'Appel, possibly via the cornice circuit. After circling the Pierre d'Appel, return towards the TV relay, then follow the path to the col de Trace, passing by the Roche du Bouc and that of Doctor Baudot.
After the col de Trace, follow the forest road to the right, then take the Roman Way that ascends to the right. Before reaching the summit, turn left towards the rocks of Faucompierre and the German Cemetery.
After crossing the road of the Republic, continue on the forest road that leads directly to the parking lot of the Première Sapinière.

Things to see along the way:
- The Pierre d'Appel: alt. 492 m, a rock that forms the eastern end of the former fortified enclosure of the Côte de Répy (Celtic camp), with very beautiful views of the valleys of the Meurthe, Rabodeau, and Plaine. The Pierre d'Appel gets its name from the warning signals that alerted the inhabitants of the area.
