Stroll around the Hirbach Pond

An immersion in nature!
The Hirbach pond, covering an area of 46 hectares, is a true haven of peace surrounded by beautiful natural surroundings. Located on the borders of Hilsprich and Holving, it is part of the structures of the aquatic Maginot line. This historic pond, designed before World War II as a natural barrier, today provides an ideal setting for a family stroll.

The path that circles the pond winds through varied landscapes: on one side, the tranquil shores of the pond, perfect for a picnic stop or a family snack, and on the other, shaded forest passages, refreshing on summer days. The green setting invites total disconnection and is a paradise for nature lovers, anglers, and families seeking a peaceful outing.

Ducks, swans, and other aquatic inhabitants glide peacefully on the water, creating a serene and calming atmosphere. Along the path, at the forest's edge, stands the majestic Honnert oak, a remarkable tree reaching about 25 meters tall. This true natural treasure rises majestically and invites contemplation. It is a must-see for all walkers.

If you are accompanied by children, plan for a small snack on the beach, located near the endpoint. Whether on foot or by bike, this walk is accessible to everyone, even the youngest. A guaranteed moment of relaxation in this green space, where water, forest, wildlife, and local flora meet harmoniously to create a very pleasant experience.
