Voie douce de Villers-sur-Coudun à Compiègne

Departing from Villers-sur-Coudun, this track follows the route of the old COMPIÈGNE/ROYE railway. It links Coudun to Villers-sur-Coudun, following on from the Bienville and Clairoix sections.... A pleasant ride for the whole family or just a few friends. You can also cycle to Compiègne to the train station and EuroVelo 3 - La Scandibérique.

This former railroad line linking COMPIÈGNE to ROYE (Somme), inaugurated in 1881, was 33.7 km long and had 14 stations or halts, including those at Coudun and Villers-sur-Coudun.
During the Great War, this railroad was cut by the front line. The French army used the Compiègne to Roye-sur-Matz section to supply the battlefield with soldiers and equipment.
After the Second World War, passenger service was discontinued. But freight transport continued until 2002, when the line was closed for good. It was transformed into a greenway between Villers-sur-Coudun and Coudun in September 2024.
