More than a hundred years on, take a stroll through the Matz and Aronde valley landscapes and immerse yourself in the history of the Battle of the Matz.
The association "Juin 18, mémoire des chars" is offering a historical tour of the Battle of the Matz to commemorate the attack of June 11, 1918, which took place on the plateau between Mery-la-Bataille and Ressons-sur-Matz. It was the deadliest single-day engagement for French tanks. Out of 169 tanks, 51% were destroyed.
