Until World War I, everything opposed the small parish of Fargniers to the tumult of Manhattan. Until the day when, largely destroyed by the bombings of 1917, the city aroused the dismay and mobilization of the great men of the world. The Reconstruction project, led by the architect of the Grand Palais Paul Bigot, is based on concentric streets leading to the main services: the town hall and its bell tower, the dispensary, the post office, the school, the municipal hall. The construction of this new city, visionary in its architecture, will be possible thanks in particular to a donation of 150,000 dollars from the Carnegie foundation. This tour will show you the essential passages of this preserved treasure.
