Between the Aisne and the plateau, along paths in the undergrowth, we climb the hill that overlooks Fontenoy, the village with two castles. An off-route detour allows access to the site of Confrécourt, leading down the steep slope to the Aisne. The walk then follows the river, as well as a series of ponds.
