The region of Breteuil, the birthplace of Hippolyte Bayard (1801-1887), a pioneer of photography, is steeped in history. A few turns of the wheels take you back to the Gallo-Roman period (the Vendeuil-Caply theatre, the Roman road Amiens-Beauvais)... before reaching the Celle valley, this pretty tributary of the Somme.
