punctuated by a Calvary, by a mill on the Serre and by the imposing belfry also known as the "Crécy tower", this interesting walk evokes the Laon countryside, alternating between woods, dirt paths, paved roads, rivers, and railways. Destroyed during the 1914-18 war, the village of Assis was rebuilt around its Romanesque church of Saint-Martin, first rebuilt during the Gothic period and then in the 16th century.
