Rainy day in the Land of Montbéliard

The weather being a known uncertainty for everyone, we have plenty of ideas to not let ourselves be discouraged by an unfortunate downpour. Here are several suggestions to turn these rainy days into happy and enriching days!

The day will start with a visit to the Regional Contemporary Art Center on the 19th or the Château Montbéliard Wurtemberg, which features temporary exhibitions of contemporary art allowing visitors to discover artists from all backgrounds and countries in its unique space. One of its main objectives is to raise public awareness of contemporary art, especially among young audiences.
And the Château des Ducs de Wurtemberg, which now houses a museum where arts, archaeology, history, and natural sciences come together.

Lunch break and in the afternoon, discover the Museum of Peasantry and Old Trades of Valentigney, an authentic farm from the Montbéliard region dating back to 1766.
In the outbuildings of the building, discover agricultural machinery, old tools, and a presentation of old trades (cobbler, carpenter, cooper, tinsmith, clog maker, woodturner... On the upper floor, dive into the history of two illustrious figures from the Montbéliard region, Etienne Oehmichen and Louis Vuillequez.
