Around Champs des Bois

- The Romanesque church from the 12th century and its Arab-Andalusian porch welcome you at the start of this loop n°5.

- Bypass the village of SAINT-MAURICE-DES-CHAMPS, cross the D236 to follow a small road for about 1200 m.

- Almost retrace your steps by taking a straight path on your left: this is the former Roman road that once connected the towns of AUTUN and TOURNUS.

- In the hamlet of La Rochette, a small Romanesque chapel from the 13th century quietly stands in front of the private château from the 15th and 16th centuries, which housed the Essarts school from 1958 to 1998 and then the Presles school.

- Cross the hamlet to take a dirt path on your left after 800 m.

- Cross a paved road and follow the path through “hell” before finding yourself “In Champagne”. Below is the former railway line Etiveau - MONTCHANIN.

- Descend the small path on your left until you reach the former keeper's cottage that you will leave on your right.

- You will see the church of SAINT-MARTIN-DU-TARTRE which you will need to reach by small shaded paths passing through Collongette-le-Haut.

- Turn left onto the departmental road. Beautiful panorama at the level of the town hall.

- Cross the village of SAINT-MARTIN-DU-TARTRE, pass near the church and take a right onto a road then a path descending along a vineyard.

- At the intersection, follow the path on the left that leads to the starting point.
