From Sennecey-le-Grand to Mâcon - 4-day Circuit

This circuit takes you on the Monks' Path from Sennecey-le-Grand to Mâcon, passing through Cluny and Tramayes where you will follow the route of Saint-Jacques de Compostelle, finally heading towards the famous rocks of Solutré and Vergisson.

Departure from Sennecey le Grand via the Monks' Path, a historic trail that offers you a magnificent panorama of the Tournugeois mountains. You will take ridge paths leading you to the Roche d'Aujoux, providing an exceptional viewpoint.
Arrival at the medieval village of Brancion, famous for its castle and church. Take this opportunity to visit these historical monuments and admire the view of the Grosne valley.

Second stage: from Brancion to Cluny, passing by Mont Saint-Romain, the highest point of this stage will offer you a 360° view of the region. Prepare for a steady climb, but it is well worth it.
Arrival at Cluny, famous for its Benedictine abbey, one of the most important in Europe during the Middle Ages.

For this third day, join the famous pilgrimage path of Saint James of Compostela and walk in the footsteps of thousands of pilgrims. This stage will provide you with a unique spiritual experience.
Arrival at Tramayes: This peaceful village is a good place to rest after a day of walking.

Last stage from Tramayes to Mâcon, passing near the Roche de Solutré and Vergisson. These two natural sites are must-sees. The Roche de Solutré, famous for its wines and cliffs, offers a panoramic view of the Saône valley. Vergisson is a charming wine village with many cellars to visit.
Arrival at Mâcon, a vibrant city, this is the endpoint of your hike. Take the opportunity to explore its historical heritage and taste the wines of the region.
