GR 5 from Foncine-le-Haut to Les Rousses

The GR5 is one of the most renowned long-distance trails in France. It crosses the three massifs of the Vosges, Jura, and Alps, connecting Wissembourg (Alsace) to Menton (Alpes Maritimes) over 1,200 km. The GR5 is also one of the most demanding trails, requiring significant training and impeccable physical condition. Starting from May 15 for about three weeks, due to work on the GR5 route, along the path known as "Chemin de Jean-Pierre," between the hiking signposts named "En Jean-Pierre" and "Route des Frasses," the GR5 route, which is part of the Grande Traversée du Jura (GTJ) and Échappée Jurassienne (EJ), will be diverted during the construction period. See the map below. WARNING: The section of GR 5 between Les Rousses and Bernex (Haute Savoie) will be modified in spring 2025. At the "Les Cressonnières" post in the Municipality of Prémanon, GR 5 will be marked by LES DAPPES / LAJOUX / LE MANON / LES MOUSSIERES / LA PESSE / LA BORNE AU LION / LELEX.
