Starting from the church, this route takes you through the vast areas affected by the fire in August 2003 (1400 ha). The majority of the burned zones have been "cleaned up"; the cut trees have been shredded into chips to fuel a boiler in Mende to produce heat and electrical energy. Off the beaten path, you can visit the Saint Côme chapel, spared by the fire and renovated.
