From its source on Mont Lozère at 1,600 meters above sea level to Florac, the Tarn takes on the appearance of a raging torrent. When it reaches Ispagnac, it slips between the plateaus of Sauveterre and Méjean. It leaves us with the legacy of this canyon carved over millions of years.
For 65 kilometers, the gorges of the Tarn unfold with meanders, cirques, and chaos... dotted with typical villages.
From Florac to Le Rozier or vice versa, there is a path on the left bank that follows the river (marked in yellow and green). On foot, the pace is slow; we have time to observe the landscape, to stop in the villages, to dream by the water, to dip our feet.
