Reipertswiller gained great notoriety during the Roman era thanks to its thermal springs. In 1876, Pastor Spach discovered the virtues and benefits of these waters. In 1880, the water from the spring was bottled and shipped to England and the United States. Unfortunately, World War I put an end to this export. But the village is also known for its St. James Church, whose square tower illustrates Romanesque art, and where one of the lords of Lichtenberg, Jacques the Bearded, is buried. Not far from there, the boundary stones mark the paths and delineated the Roman or medieval borders.
