Circuit trail Alfeld - Boedelen - Chaumière

(Red disc) From the Alfeld lake, cross the dam and follow the left bank of the lake towards Hinteralfeld - Ballon d'Alsace. Pass small bridges and at a large triangular stone, leave the bank and climb to the right (red disc). Cross a track and stay on the rocky technical path with roots.
Join D466. Cross the 1918 bridge (692m) to the left and climb a grassy slope towards the forest (direction Boedelen refuge). In the forest, at the Ballon d'Alsace fork, follow the Boedelen path to the right.

(Red easel) Cross the road, to the left, towards the path that goes up to the refuge and runs at the foot of the slopes; at the refuge 840m, potable water. Cross a clearing and follow the steep, wild, and rocky path towards Rundkopf.
(Blue ring) At the intersection of the paths of Ballon 1044m, take the left to La Chaumière; beautiful viewpoints and picnic table on the crossing.

(Red triangle) From La Chaumière 1083m (view of the summit of Ballon d'Alsace, starting point for the T21 route), take the left path that runs along the department and behind the ski station building. The path descends to the left into the forest. A beautiful rolling descent that quickly becomes technical: ski slope gradients, roots, and rocks. Stay on the Hinter Alfeld path. Cross the departmental D466 (876m) and descend the (modified) path that winds to the left in the forest and then to the right until it joins the ascent path.

(Red disc) Reach the 692m bridge on the departmental road and the starting path until the trail crossed during the ascent.
(Blue ring) Descend the path to the right, cross a bridge at 625m, and go around the lake on the right bank by a beautiful very rugged route, rocks, roots until you reach the departmental road and the parking lot.
