Starting from Marlenheim in the heart of the Vignoble de la Couronne d’Or, and to the north of the Alsace Wine Route, treat yourself to a beautiful getaway to reconnect with nature. Several villages like Wangen "the little Riquewihr of Bas-Rhin" and Westhoffen, the capital of cherries, have preserved their medieval ramparts amidst a landscape of vineyards. On the road leading to Wasselonne and then to the Westhoffen pass, orchards filled with cherry trees gradually give way to vineyards that spread across the hills of the Mossig. The dense and powerful forest reminds the cyclist that they are in the heart of one of the largest forested areas of the Vosges.
