This walk runs along both sides of the banks of the Ill, the main river of Alsace (238 km), which originates near Winkel (Alsatian Jura) and flows into the Rhine north of Strasbourg after passing through Sundgau, Mulhouse, Colmar, and Sélestat. The starting point is at the Ill footbridge on the West side near the House of the Banks.
